ANARCHY MUSIC GIVES TWO FANS THE CHANCE TO MEET HIM!
plus, how you can enter to win an autographed 2006 HIM tourbook!!!
When the idea to start this site hit me I knew that HIM would be a big part of it. When I got involved in promotion they were the first band I ever did any work for, and when I met them a few months later they accepted me into the family and have treated me as such ever since. The truth is that I wouldn't even WANT to do this site without their involvment. Fortunately, HIM is a band that recognizes and appreciates the love and dedication that their fans have for them...so they were more than willing to take part, even though the website had yet to even launch.
Allison and Simay are two friends who were going to see the HIM/Aiden concert in Clevland, Ohio...their biggest dream was to someday, somehow meet the members of HIM...Anarchy Music is proud to have helped make that dream come true..
Heres how the night when down, in their own words.
Ally is up first...
Valo stepped onto the stage sporting an all black suit and red tie. Tossing the mic stand aside, he wrapped the chord of the microphone around his wrist and the crowd went crazy as he graced them with the lyrics to the opening song, Soul on Fire. Its a shame that Valos amazing and versatile voice is almost lost among the legion of fans religiously singing his
gospel back to him. The crowd, however, cant duplicate Valos signature scream.
In everyday life, if you were to have a bra thrown at you, youd probably wonder what the hell just happened. If someone throws their bra on stage at a HIM show its not uncommon. Ville will pick them up and hang them from the mic stand. So many bras were thrown at this show that two - thats right, two - mic stands adorned various sizes of braziers. Half way through the ballad Play Dead, Valo narrowly escaped getting smacked in the face by flying undergarments. He caught it in midair and chuckled, unfazed.
Valo isnt the only one to display some impressive showmanship. It was my first time seeing opening act Aiden live and they were nothing short of amazing. The energy that they brought to the room got the crowd really psyched. If singer wiL let out and more chord on the mic he was violently swinging around, he would have knocked a damn light out.
After throwing Gas' White Castle hamburgers out into the crowd, smoking indoors against Columbus law and suggesting the power of Scandinavian sperm, Valo and the band dispersed, the crowd thinned and the crew come to start packing everything up. I, however, had the amazing opportunity to meet the guys on the balcony in the venue. While waiting in line, my friend Simay noticed Aidens Wil walking around. We got his attention and asked if he could take a picture with us. He was kind and graciously posed with everyone who wanted a photo.
We were the last group to go up. It was so unreal. Security told us to follow him up the stairs and he motioned to seats where we could sit and wait. Im nearsighted and wasnt wearing my glasses, but you can spot Lindes dreadlocks from a mile away. The were all seated behind a table except for Ville, who seemed the most awake and the most talkative of the group. It was our turn. Simay and I pinched each other in line; we just couldnt believe it. Gas and Linde were the first two in line. I told Gas that I really enjoyed the show and they both kindly signed my poster. I asked for a quick picture with the two of them and they quietly complied. I thanked them of course and my logic was lost when I realized that my idol was next in line. Often compared to (and inspired by) Edgar Allen Poe, Valos heartbreaking honesty in his voice and music have swooned millions of fans for a good ten years now and Im no exception - I was smitten.
Its been a dream of mine for a good two years to meet the man I consider a lyrical God. My friend Simay, who came all the way from Philadelphia on an eleven hour bus ride, has had a longer wait; this chance meeting was ten years in the making. When you see someone on a poster above your bed for so long, you almost forget that theyre real. This, however, was as real as it gets, but to me it felt like a dream. It happend so quickly, Im still denying it ever happend.
Hello. I say and smile.
Hellllo! he replies in his deep voice and Finnish accent.
Its an honor to meet you. I managed to squeeze out as I watched him sign my poster.
Well its an honor to meet you. he says back.
To be honest, I could have died right there. He could have said Thank you or Here you go and handed me my poster. But no. He made sure that that moment was special for me. I felt like doing a happy dance right then and there, but because I didnt want to look like a COMPLETE moron I opted for a picture with him instead. At five foot two inches, I felt like a midget next to Valo who stands at at least five foot ten inches. My arm around his waist and his around my shoulder, I instinctively widened my eyes and put up my hand for a salute. He looked down at me and automatically did the same thing. Perfect. The picture of my dreams was taken. I hugged him and thanked him before going back round to the other side of the table to find that Mige and Burton had already signed my poster. Simay, who was behind me in line, needed me to take HER picture with Ville so I quickly stepped back and took a shot of them together.
Before I could ask Burton and Mige for a picture, their tour manager said All right. Now a few group shots and were done. They all got up and and Simay and I hung back so we could get a group shot. A few people went before us and we handed our camera to a girl named Lora who was nice enough to take our picture with all of them.
We did it. It happened. We turned the corner and Simay made sure she was clearly out of sight before she started jumping up and down. Needless to say I soon followed. It was the greatest night of my life.
And here's Simay's take on things...
Somewhere between having a panic attack and pissing in my pants, I was getting more and more impatient to get behind the door where my favorite band was waiting. No panic attacks, said my friend, Ally, and no passing out. I was humming, She got TV Eye, oh no, she got TV Eye, still excited about the fact that they broke right into it during Solitary Man. When the long-haired boy holding a carton of Marlboro Lights 100s went in, I tried to take a peek behind the door, trying to make sure they were really there. When HIM played in Istanbul, Turkey in 2001, I was convinced that it was not only the first, but also the last time I could see them. And as I was walking in, my legs and arms were trembling, my fingers clutching the promo posters went cold, and I felt like I had swallowed my tongue. Please, Simay, I kept saying to myself as I sat in a chair by the entrance, please, dont lose your voice.
As I walked up to them, they were halfway through singing Happy Birthday in Finnish. Gas, Linde, Ville, Mige and Burton (from right to left) were sitting on bar stools at the far end of the room, behind tall, round tables. As soon as I placed my poster in front of them, the fingers that tickled guitar strings wiggled autographs with fat, black Sharpies. My wide-open eyes traveled from one band member to the other, trying to suck in every look, every word and every gesture. When I stood between Gas and Linde for a photograph, my face was burning in ten different shades of red. When Ally asked Ville Valo for a picture, and I heard his deep voice, saying, If you insist, I walked around the table with the edges of my lips glued to my ears. Within seconds I was smiling into the camera, holding my breath as he accepted to give me a hug.
The meet and greet ended in my third disposable camera, with Ally and I posing for a group picture with the band. I had to stop for a minute behind the wall by the stairs to catch my breath, where I did my fan-girl dance which consists of jumping up and down and screaming, Oh, my God. We glided down the stairs and made our way out of Lifestyle Communities Pavilion. Walking to Allys car, we stopped a few times to slap each other, but we were both so light-headed that we didnt feel a thing.
After a night of calling everyone I know and telling the same story over and over again, I was on the Greyhound bus to Philly, still grinning. During the 11-hour bus ride, I kept giggling when I remembered what Ville Valo said on stage: Scandinavians have small bladders, but their sperm is good.
I can't tell you how good it makes me feel to know that this website helped make this night happen for these girls...and with YOUR support we will be able to do more things like this all the time!!! However, the real heroes here are Jerry Cabrera and Lora Helstrom from Warner Brothers Records. They work with fans on a daily basis and they know how important fans are to a bands success, and how much it means to those fans when they get to spend some time with thier favorite artists. So, thank you Jerry for putting all this into motion (hope to see you soon bro!) and thanks to Lora for going out of her way to make sure everything ran smoothly. You are both AWESOME and this industry could use a lot more people like you!!!

To love is to take
to love is to give
but what if your fine
you just want the bliss?
hating and loveing
killing and living
forever I'm lost,
asking for you
I know that you wonder
and can tell I'm there
but you havent got any care
So I'll simply
long for death
nothing will change
my soul will stay on
and never die
and toture me
forever
It is everlasting ablaze
constantly out there
just asking
for love
won't you please
simply find me
and stay with me
tonight?
with one simple try
maybe we'll find
it's all we needed to begin
and now it's all fine.
it can all just end.
it was all we needed to begin with
it was all we needed to begin with
and now it can just end.
everything is acomplished
you where all I needed
and now finally
it can all just end.
just reposting .... wasn't sure if this was where or just if on the boards [sorry if this is way off]

When I look at the stars....
When I look at the stars,
they remind me of your eyes,
the way they gorgeously light up the sky,
the way they beautifully twinkle and shine,
shining so bold and bright.
When I look at the ocean,
it reminds me of your smile,
the way it takes my breath away,
when I see your precious grin,
I want you forever to stay.
When I hear the wind,
it reminds me of your voice,
the way you speak so soft and sweet,
the way you charm me with every word,
I want always your heart to keep.
Your whom I'll always love and adore,
when these things happen,
I love you more,
I will always stand by your side,
I will never run and hide,
I know our love is truly strong,
and hopefully we will do no wrong,
for I have loved you from the start,
and you will eternally remain in my heart...
