Revolution on Canvas, Volume 2 Gears Up For Release on May 9, 2007
Featuring Poetry by Fall Out Boy, Chiodos, Atreyu, Firescape, Deftones, Rx Bandits, Meg & Dia, Motion City Soundtrack, and many more!

SANTA ANA, CA -
How do you follow-up a wickedly successful debut book of poetry from some of the biggest names in the post-hardcore/indie rock world, without losing your edge or finesse, and more importantly, your cred? You can't, unless you plan on surpassing your previous concept with a second volume, promising bigger, better, and more powerful works from some of the visionaries that populate the youth-dominated music scene. And ready for the challenge, Rich Balling (Rx Bandits, The Sounds of Animals Fighting, Cowboy Communist) has compiled Revolution on Canvas, Volume 2: Poetry from the Indie Music Scene which will be released through Warner Books in conjunction with Ad Astra Books on May 9, 2007.
A veritable who's who of who matters in today's indie rock scene, this highly-anticipated follow-up to the widely successful first volume collects poetry, poems and ruminations that range from the hysterically funny (Home Grown's John Tran "About Me:") to the achingly sad (Classic Case's Jared Draughon "New York City Vampires"), and everything in-between (ActionReaction's Jason Gleason "If Humans Have Heartbeats, Do Robots Have Heartbeeps?").
In the unfiltered spirit of Ginsberg and Bukowski but with a more vibrant and youthful buoyancy, these poems and stories of Revolution on Canvas, Volume 2 continue to reclaim the power of the verse for today's kids. Who should show them the guiding power and spirit of the pen other than the artists themselves who most inspire them?
Critical praise for the first tome had been overwhelmingly positive with many in the media showering the book with kudos. Alternative Press hailed, "The book is punk poetry both at its finest," while Teen People chimed, "Music is poetry. And artists from Something Corporate, Finch and more prove it in Revolution on Canvas, a cool new anthology of poems from your
favorite indie rockers." With almost 50,000 in book sales total for the first volume, anticipation for this follow-up has been building to a deafening volume.
The inimitable Rich Balling who compiled, collected and edited Revolution on Canvas, Volume 2, built his own legacy starting with his five-year stint in the ska/indie rock group Rx Bandits and continued on with his collaborations with The Sounds of Animals Fighting and Cowboy Communist. Up until recently, Balling lectured on music and music industry at California State University, Fullerton but left the West Coast to the sandier climes of Texas.
