Lots of news and tour dates from Metal Blade Records!!
Lizzy Borden, Misanthropy Pure, Cellador, Brainstorm, Armored Saint, and lots more
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
METAL BLADE RECORDS' 25th ANNIVERSARY & CELEBRATION!
In 1982, METAL BLADE RECORDS began operating in a young Heavy Metal fan's mom's
garage in suburban Los Angeles.
The result of that metal fan's enthusiasm was the first Metal Blade Records release,
Metal Massacre, a local band compilation that included METALLICA's first recorded
release, BLACK N BLUE, MALICE, CIRITH UNGOL, DEMON FLIGHT, BITCH, AVATAR, and
PANDEMONIUM.
Twenty-Five years later, in 2007, METAL BLADE RECORDS has grown into an
international brand - occupying offices in the US, UK, Germany, Canada and Japan -
all the while maintaining its independent label identity and the original vision of
founder and CEO Brian Slagel.
It was Slagel's enthusiasm for heavy metal as a fan that encouraged its humble
beginnings and it is with that very same passion that Slagel has lead Metal Blade
Records to the forefront of the genre.
Over the last five years, METAL BLADE RECORDS' strength in mining and developing new
talent, lead to adding, at the time, stellar newcomers UNEARTH, AS I LAY DYING, THE
BLACK DAHLIA MURDER and THE RED CHORD to the roster. As the young guns that would
help propel METAL BLADE RECORDS forward, the bands combined to sell a staggering 1.5
million units in the U.S.
The labels' recent successes do not tell the whole story however. METAL BLADE
RECORDS boasts one of the most comprehensive Heavy Metal catalogs in the world,
including seminal releases by SLAYER, CANNIBAL CORPSE, GWAR, KING DIAMOND, SIX FEET
UNDER, FATES WARNING, ARMORED SAINT, MERCYFUL FATE and many more.
With a current roster that includes, in addition to the artists mentioned above,
AMON AMARTH, HATE ETERNAL, GOATWHORE, 3, EVERGREEN TERRACE, CATTLE DECAPITATION,
SHAI HULUD and probably the most anticipated debut release from a metal band in
years, JOB FOR A COWBOY, METAL BLADE RECORDS, at twenty five years old, is reaching
its prime.
2007 will not only celebrate the 25 years of Metal Blade, it will also be the year
that showcases new releases by artists that represent Metal Blade's future - the
third, and highly anticipated album by AS I LAY DYING, the sophomore release by THE
RED CHORD, and a debut album for JOB FOR A COWBOY. In addition 2007 will also see
new releases KING DIAMOND, SIX FEET UNDER and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER.
Throughout the years, Brian Slagel has become a prominent figure in the metal
community, and continues to run METAL BLADE RECORDS independently without being an
imprint of any major label.
"I am really proud that Metal Blade has reached our 25th anniversary. It has been a
great ride and we have worked with so many amazing people over the years. I have to
thank all of our staff, artists, fans, writers, retail, radio, managers, agents and
everyone else who helped us achieved this landmark. I look forward to the future as
Heavy Metal and Metal Blade remain strong."
To celebrate the significant milestone in Metal Blade's 25th year, there will be a
Metal Blade Records 25th Anniversary Show at the New England Metal & Hardcore
Festival on Saturday 28th April 2007 at THE PALLADIUM in Worcester, MA. As a title
sponsor of this event, Metal Blade Records artists will solely command both stages.
The show will be filmed and recorded for a forthcoming release. MTV's HEADBANGERS
BALL will also be on hand to film and interview artists and staffers for a special
Metal Blade Records episode.
"MTV2 and Headbangers Ball our proud to celebrate Metal Blade's 25th Anniversary at
the 2007 New England Metal and Hardcore Festival. Tune into Headbangers Ball on 5/12
to see exclusive coverage from the show."

LIZZY BORDEN ALBUM COVER PHOTO SHOOT!
Lizzy Borden has shot the cover of the as yet un-named new recording due out the end
of summer.
Lizzy is working with special effects wizard and make-up artist Ralis Kahn
(www.ralisfx.com
been revealed, Ralis has designed the set and the look of the band based on the
characters in the storyline of the new recording.
Famed 'Metal' photographer Alex Solca took well over a 1,000 shots in a two-day
marathon, involving extras as well as the band (Lizzy, Joey Scott, Marten Andersson
and Ira Black). At the end of the two-day shoot the set was literally set a blaze!
with flames shooting 30 feet into the air! And all captured on film.
"Because a lot of music is going straight to itunes, we thought we would pay special
attention to both the cover and the back cover and fill the inside of the CD booklet
with tons of fun shots from this specialized photo shoot. As we all know, very soon
there will no longer be an actual CD to have a cool booklet for. Everything will go
straight from the studio to your ipod, so we thought we would really do this one up
right!" commented Lizzy.
Fifteen hours worth of video footage was also filmed during the two day shoot.
Stay tuned to for the 'Making of' as well as the cover to be posted soon.

MISANTHROPY PURE (Matthew Fox, Shai Hulud)
"Please accept our most humble apologies for the inexcusable lack of updates. We
have an excuse. Book your tickets to hell because it's all nice and frozen down
there, and lo! a pig high in the sky. We have indeed been writing our next album
which -- if you'll just stop snickering for a moment -- we will start recording...
very soon. Yes, you read right -- say it with us, "veh-ree soo-en." In fact, the
album will be completed this year and titled Misanthropy Pure because we still hate
everyone. Yes (sigh), you too. No release date has been set yet. We want to confirm
things three times over before we release any inaccurate information to you, the
good, and quite possibly overfed public.
We will tell you this, Misanthropy Pure will feature ten new songs (including "To
Bear The Brunt Of Many Blades" -- the 2006 demo version can be heard by clicking NOT
HERE
, but HERE
structured to knock socks -- regardless of the wearer's gender, race, or length of
toenails -- clean off. Really, we hired a crack team of metalcore specialists to
study today's hippest, hottest, most unit moving bands to find out what you, the
good, and quite possibly medicated to at least some degree public, looks for in
today's music (this is, of course, why Britney Spears sans hair has been in various
pits across the globe demonstrating her style as of late). Upon receiving the
results, we were so appalled we used them as a blueprint to construct an album that
is nothing short of the perfect antithesis (that means opposite -- er, so we think)
of what most of you want to hear. That's right, most of you guys and gals sure have
bad taste. No worries, so do we. Just ask our moms...
Misanthropy Pure will be recorded at Millbrook Studios, Silver Bullet Studios, and
Planet Z with Paul Orofino (A Life Once Lost, Immolation, Zack Wylde), Greg Thomas
(Kingdom Of Sorrow, Icepick,The Risk Taken), and Zeuss (Hatebreed, Throwdown, The
Red Chord) respectively.
There will be more new album information posted periodically. This was just to let
you know that things are very much underway. Please stay tuned, and like Robocop
sternly warned us in 1986, "Stay out of trouble."

ONLINE GUITAR LESSONS WITH BILL HUDSON FROM CELLADOR!
Yes, technology has gotten to me. After procrastinating for so long, I'm finally
starting to teach guitar online! For more than 10 years I've taught students both in
Brazil and the USA, and had to deal with problems such as:
- Being on tour (which makes it harder for students to progress due to extended
periods of time with no lessons)
- Not being able to teach interested people who live outside of my immediate area
(let's face it: living in midwest USA or BRAZIL doesn't help the cause)
- Weather conditions (who wants to leave their house on a below zero temperature?),
etc.
Honestly, the idea of online lessons always seemed weird to me, until I saw a good
friend teaching. I realized that with an internet connection, a computer and a
webcam almost anything is possible and the problems mentioned above can be solved.
In fact, in my opinion, it's even better because when you don't leave your house,
all you need to do is keep working on the examples while they're fresh in your mind.
No driving back home, no distractions, no pieces of paper that can get lost.
E-mail me at bill@cellador.com
"ONLINE LESSONS". Please include your name, city (country if outside USA) and the
days and times that work best for you (Central Time, please). You'll then receive a
reply with a zip file containing all the necessary softwares for the lessons and all
the information you'll need.
Cost per lesson will be US$ 30 for a full hour (half hour lessons never worked and
never will). Payment for 1 month in advance is required before the first lesson. For
example, you'd be paying for 4 April lessons on the last lesson of March. Unlimited
consultation via e-mail or instant messenger will be provided.
Lessons can be taught in English or Portuguese.
Still skeptical? I'm offering a FREE TRIAL that will last 15 minutes to help you
make your decision.

CELLADOR PARTS WAYS WITH DRUMMER DAVE DAHIR...SEEKS REPLACEMENT
It's been less than four months since we parted ways with our bass player, and we're
happy to inform you that we have found a replacement. His name will be announced
soon, but I can assure that some of you already know who he is. He's definitely the
best choice we could have made, and you'll all be very impressed with him. But
unfortunately, I have to - once again - announce that CELLADOR is no longer working
with drummer and very good friend David Dahir. He has always been more into death
metal and more brutal styles of music, and even more recently has began to further
venture into the realm of extreme music. In the last few months Dave has become more
interested in these styles and because of this everyone involved thought it would be
good if we tried different things. Maybe we'll work together again in the future.
Who knows? Dave is very talented and young, and we'll be happy to help him in anyway
we possibly can. We're sure you'll hear about his other musical projects very soon.
At this time CELLADOR is holding auditions in order to find a replacement drummer.
We are seeking someone who at the very least is willing to fill in so we can fulfill
our upcoming show obligations. The band is seeking an energetic and motivated
individual, preferably 25 years of age or younger, with a devout and passionate
commitment to music and drumming. We are looking for someone with amazing footwork
and stamina in particular. A background in extreme music in addition to power metal
would be a huge plus, as we want to incorporate a lot of these elements into our
music. If you are interested or know of anyone who might be, please e-mail us at
contact@cellador.com or message us on our MySpace page.

summer '07 to bring BRAINSTORM LIVE to your apartement!"
"We have tons of live recordings to check... but the more we watch those recordings,
the more we feel that it's time to go back on the road again!"
"Stay tuned for some great NEWS about the DVD-Box as well as for the new album!"
