EXCLUSIVE NEWS: JOURNEY'S NEW VOCALIST IS NAMED!
UPDATED!

At the beginning of 2007 we chose Jeff Scott Soto as our 2006 Vocalist Of the Year. Though he doesn't particularly fit in with the music we cover, we felt that his talent, as well as his incredible live performances while stepping in as lead singer of Journey were enough to win him the award. Hell, he was eventually named the permanent vocalist of Journey, so all seemed right.

Now, less than a year after his first performance, Jeff scott Soto has been dropped by the band. They decided to go a different direction apparently. Lets see, you have one of the most talented and versatile singers on the planet who has proven himself for deacades as both a frontman and songwriter for various bands. What other direction would a band want to go in?

Well, I have heard from a VERY reliable source that the band has decided to basically rip off their own past instead of forging ahead. that's right, the new singer of Journey is a guy who fronts a Journey cover band. His name is Jeremey Hunsicker, and he sings for the band Frontiers, who are based out of NC. This is a guy who has patterned his career after famed Journey vocalist Steve Perry and has never written a damn thing himself that anyone ever cared to listen to. From a creative standpoint this is an absolute disaster, though very few people could match up with what Jeff Scott Soto brought to the table. For fans who don't want new music from the band and instead want to pretend that Steve Perry is still in the band then this is a godsend.

Now, some may be asking for me to name my source for this info. Well, I'm not going to name him. However, I assure you that if anyone knows, it would probably be him. Personally, I have assumed that Perry would be rejoining the band. from what people are telling me however, that is simply not possible.

So there you have it. Jeremey Hunsicker of the NC based tribute act Frontiers is the new singer of Journey. As far as I'm concerned the band has just betrayed their fans and the singer those fans quickly embraced.

PS: Journey sucks.

UPDATE

The following is a quote from Frontiers website, which is located at http://www.journeytributeband.com

On a personal note, there has been much speculation about what the future holds for me. As with any business issue, there are things that can't be discussed, and things that will be explained if and when the time is right to do so.

Also, I have had my information confirmed by a second source. That source claims that Jeremey Hunsicker is entering the studio within the next day or so for his final audition, but that it is basically a done deal.

Now...I HATE Journey. I think the band sucks in a major way. My only reason to report this news is because of the shitty way they dismissed Jeff Scott Soto. However, Journey fans...if you actually want the band to continue as anything more than a novelty tribute act, make your voice heard! I am breaking this news before the band was prepared to tell you about it. That means enough pissing and moaning from the fanbase could potentially influence them. Or maybe it won't. Who knows? However, I am completely and 110% positive that the info I have reported is true.
