Tons of Metal Blade news

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

HURLEY AND CONVERSE UNITE TO PRESENT THE 2007 "RADIO REBELLION" TOUR FEATURING CO-HEADLINERS JOB FOR A COWBOY AND BEHEMOTH
Hurley and Converse unite to present the 2007 "Radio Rebellion" Tour, a massive, twenty eight city North American trek that will showcase the cream of the crop of heavy music's rising stars from points across the globe. Co-headlining the tour will be Glendale, AZ extreme metal unit JOB FOR A COWBOY and Polish death metal troupe BEHEMOTH.

The highly-anticipated follow up to 2006's successful package tour of the same name, this year's planned jaunt sees the "Radio Rebellion" Tour upping the ante, especially in regards to the 'heaviness factor', as the tour will grandstand two of underground metal's most talked about rising artists in BEHEMOTH and JOB FOR A COWBOY. Support on the extreme expedition will be provided by highly regarded French band GOJIRA and Canadian technical death metal quartet BENEATH THE MASSACRE. The tour's official admat can be viewed at this location.

JOB FOR A COWBOY, who has seen a meteoric ascent unparalleled in recent metal history, will continue to tour in support of its debut full-length album "GENESIS". Referred to as "the most anticipated debut release from a metal band in years", "GENESIS" debuted at # 54 on Billboard's Top 200 chart this past May, shifting nearly 13,000 units in it's first week of release and joined the initial releases from Stone Sour and Damageplan (which featured members of Slipknot and Pantera respectively) amongst the highest charting metal debuts to crack Billboard's Top 200 since SLIPKNOT's 1999 self-titled album. Additionally. the band has earned a landslide of recent accolades including being named "Best Underground Band" at the 2007 Metal Hammer "Golden Gods Awards", one of Total Guitar's "Hottest Guitar Bands of 2007", one of Alternative Press' 2007 "Bands You Need to Know" and one of Revolver's "Breakthrough Bands that will be Kicking Your Ass this Year".

Ozzfest breakthrough artists BEHEMOTH are extremely proud to be a part of the “Radio Rebellion” tour, which is the perfect follow up to their highly successful summer run. The tour affords the band the opportunity to perform a longer set in more intimate settings, ultimately providing fans with "the definitive BEHEMOTH experience". This is also a chance for the band to perform an array of songs from their highly acclaimed new offering, "The Apostasy", which debuted at #149 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. While most bands struggle to evolve and stay vital within the extreme music genre, BEHEMOTH has managed to do so effortlessly. "The Apostasy" is destined to continue their legacy.

"We’ve toured U.S. ten times during last few years but we almost never had a chance to headline our own shows," BEHEMOTH main man Nergal states. "These last few years have been about working our asses off in order to establish our name and build a solid foundation, and now it will finally pay off. It’s high time for us to come back to North America and show our fans what a Behemoth set with full production can be. I love all the bands that are joining us as there is a lot of quality and variety on the bill. I’m thrilled to tour with Gojira and Job for a Cowboy is phenomenal! Extremely talented band. I can’t think of a better company for us. We’re bringing all our lights, a full stage production, and will be delivering at least an hour long set. We’ll be playing old stuff as well as songs from “The Apostasy”. The Radio Rebellion Tour is going to be massive! See you there my friends!”

On the topic of the tour, JOB FOR A COWBOY founding member Ravi Bhadriraju comments, "To be a part of a tour along side some of the best acts from around the world is awesome. Behemoth, Gojira and Beneath the Massacre are all from different countries and are all amazing bands. This will be the heaviest tour of the fall! We're excited and ready to hit the road yet again. All of you Job for A Cowboy fans can expect a show that will be worth your while. Look out!"

In addition to Hurley and Converse, "Radio Rebellion" 2007 tour sponsors include Revolver Magazine, Smartpunk, Metal Blade Records, Ferret Music and Prosthetic Records. "Radio Rebellion" Co-Founder Stewart Teggart comments, "We are very excited to launch this year's 'Rebellion Tour'. It will be 'Radio Rebellion' in the truest sense as we've assembled four of the most extreme bands in heavy metal. Each band on the tour this year hail from a different country and all of them have their own unique way of delivering brutally heavy music. If you are a fan of Metal, this tour is not to be missed! Radio Rebellion will be the microphone for the youth by delivering what the fans want to see and hear which is why sponsors with a similar frame of mind have been chosen to help support the tour."

For additional information on "Radio Rebellion", please visit the tour's online domain: www.myspace.com/radiorebellion.

"Showcasing cutting-edge artists who've built a massive grassroots fanbase without the help of commercial radio, the Radio Rebellion Tour signifies the shift in how today's youth discovers and identifies new music and lifestyle trends through the media and the Internet." - SURFERSVILLAGE.com

Behind the scenes footage from AS I LAY DYING’s video shot for Nothing Left
AS I LAY DYING’s brand new video for the first single off their upcoming album AN OCEAN BETWEEN US, entitled “Nothing Left,” debuted on Headbanger’s Ball last weekend. Today the exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from the filming of the video will run on Myspace.com.

The bleak, futuristic video was shot in Van Nuys, California at Sound City Studios with Brian Thompson (Killswitch Engage, Angels & Airwaves) lending his directorial talents. The story, which was conceived by the band and refined as a collaboration between the band and Thompson, follows a female character through a series of events which takes place within a decaying, future landscape.

Upon speaking about the recent filming experience, guitarist Nick Hipa added, “The concept of our new video is conceptually akin to books like The Scarlet Letter, while visually it is influenced by the idea of post-apocalyptic dystopian societies as seen in films like Blade Runner and 1984. There are dudes with machine guns and gas masks, so already its one of my favorite videos we've ever done.”

CELLADOR confirmed to play Loudpark 07 in Japan!
Cellador have been confirmed for the Loudpark 07 festival, set to take place October 20-21 at the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama City, Japan.

"So it has finally happened… CELLADOR is on their way to Japan! Even in the bands unsigned days, we had known and greatly appreciated the support of our fans and friends made in Japan. From as far back as first demo's release we had seen, read, and heard great support and feedback from Japanese metalheads even before a lot of the USA caught any attention to us. Since then it has been a dream of ours to be able to play some shows there. With our invitation to the Loudpark festival we can finally say that one of the band's biggest goals is about to be achieved and for being on our first album it will be nothing short of surreal for us as a band!! To all our friends and fans in Japan, do not miss this!"

BORN FROM PAIN – Stop at nothing!
We are happy to announce that we have finally found a steady frontman in our long-time friend Kevin Otto (formerly of END OF DAYS).

We jammed together and couldn’t be more thrilled about what came out. Kevin adds a dose of unmatched aggressiveness to the BORN FROM PAIN sound that will step up the level of brutality for a new release and future live shows.

We are glad the wait is over! Expect a new song soon! However, due to personal reasons, Kevin will not be doing any shows with us until after the Hell On Earth tour.

Therefore, BORN FORM PAIN will be fronted by good friend and TERROR vocalist Scott Vogel during the 3 weeks the Hell On Earth tour lasts.

Thanks to Paul SUPERIOR, Marcel PLATOON and Carl FIRST BLOOD for helping us out and doing a great job on the microphone in times of need.

Also, a huge thank you to all of you for supporting the band during this period. This proves to us, once again, that you are the most loyal crowd a band could ever wish for! Thanks.

Unbroken. Unbeaten. Stopping at nothing!

PRIMORDIAL – Reveal new album title
So we are finally finished with the recording of our sixth album, To the Nameless Dead. After a few rain sodden weeks locked up in Foel Studios in North Wales mastering and final artwork is now completed. This time far away from the chaos and negative influences of a big city made the recording process far smoother and more complete then we have ever known.

We left at the end quietly satisfied as opposed to feeling like our nerves were shot and far more stressed then we began. Much of this we owe to Chris Fielding who engineered it and put many long hours into its creation and to Dave Anderson who has created something we can only call a “good vibe” in the middle of nowhere far from the meddling influence of civilisation….immense thanks.

The sound is of course instantly recognisable as Primordial but more powerful then before, heavier and richer with a much more rounded sound. Whereas The Gathering Wilderness was a dark often impenetrably bleak work, To the Nameless Dead has found the fire in its veins to defy, to rebel, to stand up and oppose all. This is a vast and epic album, more pounding and full of rage than PRIMORDIAL has been for many a winter…

It is defiantly at odds with a modern metal scene that often seems to place banality, mediocrity and safety above passion, honesty and truth. It does not sound like a computer recorded it, it does not sound like a procession of riffs simply poached from metals founding fathers, it is not a mindless exercise in musical masturbation. This is Metal as it was meant to be played. With Passion… We play music because we have to…this is in our veins.

This is our culture, our history, our folklore, our heritage. We make no apologies, we will not compromise. And now with our sixth album To the Nameless Dead we are about to make our strongest statement yet…

Acta Non Verba
Ad Asperum Finem
Vae Victis

Primordial’s To the Nameless Dead will be available in stores and online everywhere in early 2008!
